Telescopic ladders with moveable stabilisers
A telescopic ladder 1 with one or more moveable stabilisers 10 that are adjustable from a first retained position extending outwardly from the ladder stiles 2 to a second retained position between the two ladder stiles and below the lowest ladder rung 3. When extended, the stabilising struts increase the base width of the ladder. The second position is a storage position. The stabilisers are pivotably adjustable about the ladder leg, or about a circular bearing mounted on a ladder leg if the leg is not itself circular. The load bearing foot 6 of the stabilising strut may be adjustable in length or height. There are means to hold the stabiliser in one or more positions, such as spring-biased retention devices, friction, hook and loop securing means, or others. The stabiliser may be detachable from the ladder.
