The safety warning device 100, e.g. traffic cone, has a flexible bellows shaped tube 33 connected between a top end 32 and a bottom end 31. The tube is compressible or extendable by a concertina effect under external force, e.g. for transportation or storage. The device may be conical or cylindrical. There may be a base 10 having a connect ring 12 defining an accommodating space 13 for a counterweight 20. The connecting ring may also have a connecting trough or channel 121 with an insertion trough 122, through which a connecting flange of the bottom end may be inserted and slid into the connecting ring. The device may alternatively be formed in two halves including an intermediate connecting ring having top and bottom connecting troughs for securing respective top and bottom bellow tube sections. The tube may also flex sideways. The bellows may be formed of connected concentric rings or a spiral.
