Vehicle door assistance
Vehicle door assistance with a solenoid coupled between a door and a frame to provide a door adjustment force when the door is opening/closing. Door assisting adjustment force is based on roll and pitch angles of the vehicle and a personal characteristic of an occupant. An accelerometer may measure the vehicle angle. The personal characteristic may be based on age, strength, and may sense when an occupant is struggling to open a door and may adjust the level of assisting force. A user interface may allow entry of multiple different user assistance profiles which can be applied to different doors. Preferably an emergency mode can be selected by a manual switch or automatically in the event of a collision which may unlock the doors and when a user grasps the handle automatically opens the door. Triggering of an air-bag may automatically select the emergency mode.
