The system comprises at least two pieces of formwork with steps. A first piece 9 of formwork comprises a first step on its upper side and a front face with a front opening 15. A second piece of formwork 19 has a second step on its upper side and a rear face with a rear opening 27. The pieces are arranged to be attached together so that the first step is above the second step. The pieces are positioned so that the front and rear openings are in fluidic communication such that concrete poured into the first piece can pass through the front opening, through the rear opening of the second piece and into the second piece. Also claimed is a method where the pieces are arranged and attached together and the formwork is filled with material. The connection between two pieces may be reinforced.
