Connection arrangements, pivots and mechanisms
A mechanism for pivotally supporting a panel, including a threaded pin 1 about which the panel may pivot, a rotatable element e.g. a nut 2, threadingly engaged with the pin, and a bearing assembly 3 resting on the rotatable element for supporting the panel to pivot about the structure and spacing the rotatable element from the panel. When rotated, the rotatable element drives the bearing assembly and the panel axially along the structure, the bearing assembly including a first washer 3’ shaped to irrotationally engage the pin; a second element positioned to pivot 3e’ about the pin and a low friction mechanism, e.g. a series of rolling elements located in a track or lubricant, between the washers to allow pivotal movement. Alternatively, the washers may be manufactured out of a low friction material. The pivotal structure is for use on a folding door arrangement.
