A carrier for holding a plurality of articles
A carrier 6 for holding a plurality of articles (Fig 2; 7), the carrier comprising a frame having an elongate lower support 32 for supporting a row of the articles, and having an upper support 34 provided with clamping devices 42 for holding the articles at positions above the lower support. The lower support has a drainage aperture (Fig 5; 38), and the carrier further comprises a mounting arrangement 40 for mounting the carrier on a conveyor (Fig 1; 2,4). The lower support may comprise a pair of parallel bars, which can be metal, which are spaced apart to define a drainage slot. The clamping device may comprise a pair of arms that are resiliently displaceable to each other. The arms can be made from metallic wire. Further disclosed is an article dipping system comprising a bath of liquid (Fig 1;14) a conveyor, and at least one carrier. The carrier is mounted on the conveyor for displacement to and from a dipping position. The conveyor has a lowering mechanism to immerse the articles in the carrier, in the liquid. The system may also comprise an excess liquid removal system (Fig 1; 16).
