Improved flooring component
A flooring component or saddle member 5 comprising one or more concave or recessed portions for receiving edge or peripheral portions of one or more packers 300 and provided on or by upstanding portions. There may be a pair of upstanding portions disposed on adjacent opposing edges of the flooring component. Packers may be arranged on the flooring component in a first disposition retained by the concave or recessed portions, and in a second disposition perpendicular to the first on a receiving surface on top of the upstanding portions. The flooring component may comprise a headcap comprising four upwardly extending L-shaped brackets defining a cruciform channel for receiving packers or battens. Also claimed is a combination of a flooring component comprising a headcap comprising a flange arrangement extending from a peripheral portion of a first surface, and an elevating member 200 comprising a further flange arrangement 210 extending from a peripheral portion of a first surface 205, wherein when the first surfaces are adjacent the flange arrangements are distal one another. A resilient or acoustically dampening layer may be attached to the headcap first surface. Also claimed is a packer comprising indicia or markings to indicate a direction or orientation.
