Improved flooring component
A combination of a building or flooring component or saddle member 5 and an elevating member 200, the building or flooring component or saddle member comprising a headcap 30 comprising a plate 20 having flanges 35 extending from a peripheral or marginal portion of a first surface, the elevating member comprising a further plate 205 comprising further flanges 210 extending from a peripheral or marginal portion of a first surface, wherein when the first surface of the building component plate is adjacent the first surface of the elevating member the flanges and further flanges are distal one another. There may be four flanges, one on each side of the plate. There may be four further flanges, each L-shaped at the corners of the further plate. There may be a resilient or acoustic dampening layer between the plates. The plate may comprise four L-shaped brackets 40 extending from a second surface defining a cruciform channel for receiving packers 300, packing pieces or battens. The packers may comprise two convex or protruding portions 305 received in concave or recessed portions 10 of upstanding elements 15 on the headcap. The combination may be used to lay flooring on uneven substrates.
