A profiled and twisted wire article (1) in the form of a wall tie, anchor or reinforcement wire having multi-start helical threads (1A,1B) wound around a central core (4). In a transverse cross-sectional profile of the article, the article has rotational symmetry but is reflectively asymmetrical. In an alternative, each thread (1A,1B) has at least first and second surfaces (23,12) and the first surface (23) of each thread is longer than the second surface (12) of each thread. Also described is an arrangement for connecting a plurality of profiled and twisted wires where one wire is fixed in a position that is substantially perpendicular to another wire using a cleat.
