A method for reducing buffeting of a window by a window device as well as a corresponding window device
A method for reducing buffeting of a window 14 of a motor vehicle 10 by a window device 12 of the motor vehicle, wherein a pressure inside the vehicle and/or outside 20 the vehicle is detected by a pressure detection device 16 of the window device and, depending on the detected pressure, a pressure relief device 18 of the window device is actuated to lower the pressure inside the vehicle. Also claimed is a window device for reducing buffeting of a window of a motor vehicle. The pressure relief device may be a door that is opened to relieve the cabin pressure, the window itself or another window of the vehicle. The pressure detection device may comprise a flexible diaphragm, a single pressure sensor or a plurality of electronic pressure sensors 22 arranged around the vehicle. The pressure may be determined by an electronic computing device 24 which may comprise a mathematical model 26 that determines pressure using characterising parameter inputs 28 such as vehicle speed, open position of all windows and/or location of vehicle occupants. The electronic computing device may comprise a machine learning algorithm 30.
