A vehicle or trailer roof top tent comprising solid or rigid panels that slot together without the need for an internal or external supporting framework, that is capable for being disassembled by folding or sliding such that it can be easily stowed. Preferably a free-moving cross beam (10, fig 2) spans and supports the floor panel. Preferably the panels are hinged at different heights to enable them to be stowed in a flat arrangement. The panels may be insulated. The panels may comprise windows that may be hinged to allow them to open. The base may be secured by means of poles (25, fig 9) or long sliders 19, 20 attached to the trailer of vehicle.
