A modular bund system comprising one or more wall components 2 connectable to form a perimeter around an area to be protected. The components may have a longitudinal slot 6 that receives a foam sealing block (6, fig 2A) which forms a seal along the length of the base of the component. A connecting member (24, fig 5A) may be provided to connect wall components together. The system may comprise curved wall or semi-circular components, and may comprise wedge shaped members securable to the wall components for use as a ramp. The system is for use as a secondary containment for hazardous liquids in the event of a spillage. The wall components may be constructed from a recyclable plastic material.
