Provided is an exterior wall structure (2) for a building provided with an exterior wall (10) at which a lean-to (20) is installed. The exterior wall structure (2) comprises: a column (11) constituting the exterior wall (10); a first base material (12) attached to the column (11); a second base material (13) attached to the column (11) at a position below the first base material (12); an exterior material (14) attached to the first base material (12); a lean-to shaft member (21) constituting the lean-to (20); and a drainage member (30) provided between the exterior material (14) and the lean-to shaft member (21). The first base material (12) is attached to the column (11) at a position above the lean-to shaft member (21). The second base material (13) is attached to the column (11) at a position below the lean-to shaft member (21).
