PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an architectural material capable of securely holding an open/close panel which is disposed at a close position of a ventilation opening part.SOLUTION: The architectural material includes an architectural material body and a vertically long open/close panel 3. The architectural material body is provided with a ventilation opening part 20 for ventilation, which has a vertically long shape penetrating the same in a front/rear direction. The open/close panel 3 is disposed to rotate on a vertical axis between a close position to close the ventilation opening part 20 and an open position to open the ventilation opening part 20. The ventilation opening part 20 includes, at both sides thereof: a holding member movable in a width direction of the ventilation opening part 20; and an elastic member 11 for giving an elastic force to the respective holding members inward in a width direction of the ventilation opening part 20. Each holding member has a fitting part 80 with which a side end of the open/close panel disposed at the close position detachably engages in a convex-concave manner.
