PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking tool having a small height and a simple configuration regardless of enlargement of a communication range of an IC tag by functioning a body member of the marking tool as an auxiliary antenna or an antenna of the IC tag.SOLUTION: The marking tool to be installed on the ground G includes: a flat metal body member 20 having an upper face 22, a lower face 21, and an outer peripheral face 23, where the body member 20 includes a depressed part 41 at a part of the outer peripheral surface 23 from the upper face 22 to the lower face 21, and an IC tag reception part 43 formed in the depressed part 41 at the side of the upper face 22 or the lower face 21; and an IC tag 25 that is disposed in the IC tag reception part 41 and performs communications by an electromagnetic induction method. The IC tag reception part 43 is spaced from a bottom face 42b of the depressed part 43.
