OPERATION STATE DETECTION SYSTEM OF WORK MACHINE, AND WORK MACHINE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation state detection system capable of detecting an operation state of a work machine with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The operation state detection system of a work machine detects the operation state of an excavation unit 5 operating with respect to a turning unit 3 of a hydraulic shovel 1. This detection system includes: recognition markers 11 and 13 disposed on the excavation unit 5; a camera 10 that is disposed in the turning unit 3 and images the excavation unit 5; a calculation unit for calculating the amount of change when the shapes of the recognition markers 11 and 13 imaged by the camera 10 change with the operation of the excavation unit 5; and a detection unit for detecting the operation state of the excavation unit 5 on the basis of the amount of change calculated by the calculation unit.
