PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boom of a work machine that allows the weight of a side wall of a split boom to be reduced and the labor in assembly work to be mitigated.SOLUTION: A body 20 of an insert boom 6c2 includes an overhanging part 26 that overhangs forward from a constituent part 21 of a closed cross-section. The overhanging part 26 has a part 26c configured in an area between an upper edge 22c and a lower edge 22d of a protruded part 22b that protrudes forward of a pair of forward side walls 22 on a forward side of the constituent part 21 of the closed cross-section, and has a portion that protrudes forward to include a tip 26a between a first engaging part 30 and a second engaging part 31 formed on the forward side wall 22.
【課題】分割式ブームの側壁の軽量化が可能であり、かつ、組立作業における労力低減が可能な作業機械のブームを提供する。【解決手段】インサートブーム６ｃ２の本体２０は、閉鎖断面構成部分２１の前方へ張り出す張出し部分２６を有する。張出し部分２６は、閉鎖断面構成部分２１の前方側において、一対の前方側壁２２の間で当該前方側壁２２のうち前方に突出する突出部２２ｂの上縁２２ｃから下縁２２ｄに及ぶ範囲に構成されている部分２６ｃを有するとともに、前方側壁２２に形成された第１係合部３０と第２係合部３１との間に先端２６ａを有するように前方に突出する形状をもつ。【選択図】図６
