AREA LIMITED EXCAVATION CONTROL DEVICE AND CONSTRUCTION MACHINE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an area limited excavation control device and a construction machine which enable a work machine control device to appropriately implement area limited excavation control in accordance with a signal protocol of an external operation unit.SOLUTION: An area limited excavation control device comprises: an external operation unit 30 which carries out an operation of difference information between a position of a work machine 20 and an excavation target surface on the basis of positional information of a vehicle body 10 of a construction machine, posture information on the vehicle body 10 and the work machine 20, and three-dimensional information on the given excavation target surface; a display device 38 which displays a positional relation between the work machine 20 and the excavation target surface on the basis of the difference information input through the external operation unit 30; a work machine control device 40 which executes area limited excavation control on the basis of a signal input through the external operation unit 30; and a signal conversion device 47 which performs protocol conversion of the signal output from the external operation unit 30 to the work machine control device 40 into a signal protocol of the work machine control device 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
