EARTH RETAINING METHOD AND EARTH RETAINING UNIT
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe earth retaining method that prevents a collapse of an excavation groove with an even greater certainty, in an excavation work in which a prescribed construction work is performed while cutting the excavation groove, in a construction work space adjacent to the excavation groove.SOLUTION: An earth retaining method is used when a prescribed construction work is performed in a construction work space 34 adjacent to an excavation groove 3, while cutting the excavation groove 3 for the construction work from a ground surface 30. An earth retaining unit is installed inside the excavation groove 3 as the cutting work progresses, the earth retaining unit having an earth retaining wall that covers three surfaces of the excavation groove 3, among excavated wall surfaces of the excavation groove except for a construction work surface 10 facing the construction work space 34. The construction work is performed in the construction work space 34 from inside the excavation groove 3, while supporting with the earth retaining unit earth pressure P from three surfaces except the construction work surface 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
