PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deck supporting material, a deck and a deck construction method in which a constant fixed state can be kept even if an outside temperature changes.SOLUTION: A joist 3 includes: a joist body 30 disposed of an opposite direction of a pair of walls 6, 7 as a longitudinal direction; a slide member 40 mounted in a slidable manner to an end 30B of the joist body 30; a coil spring 50 for biasing the slide member 40 toward the wall 7; a length adjuster 60 mounted to an end 30A of the joist body 30; a length adjuster 70 mounted to the slide member 40; an abutment member mounted to the length adjuster 60 and coming into abutment with the wall 6; and an abutment member mounted to the length adjuster 70 and coming into abutment with the wall 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
