STRUCTURE AND CONSTRUCTION METHOD FOR REINFORCING EXISTING PILLAR
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reinforcing an existing pillar using concrete panels having high strength and high toughness.SOLUTION: A structure for reinforcing an existing pillar comprises: four concrete panels with high strength and high toughness which are positioned at a prescribed distance from surfaces of an existing pillar and surround the pillar in a rectangular shape in planar view; built-up steel members with an L-shaped cross section disposed at respective corners of the pillar so as to connect neighboring two of the concrete panels; and a filler to fill a space surrounded by the concrete panels. Such concrete panels are stacked in the height direction along the pillar, with planar connecting steel members for connecting vertically neighboring such concrete panels. The concrete panels, the built-up steel members and the connecting steel members are connected by bolt-shaped fixtures.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
