PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail polishing device capable of evenly polishing a tread of a rail in a travel direction.SOLUTION: A rail polishing device 10 comprises: a vehicle body 20, which has front and rear wheels 21, 22 running along a rail R; a wheel running driving source 33; abrasive materials 41, 41, which polish a tread of the rail R; a rotation driving source 42, which rotates the abrasive materials; a detection part, which detects a rotation speed of the running driving source or a running speed of the vehicle; and a control part, which controls the rotation driving source to start driving when the rotation speed or the running speed detected by the detection part reaches a specified value. Polishing surfaces of the abrasive materials 41, 41 contact the tread of the rail R when an operator presses down a handle 57.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
