PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient strength of a building.SOLUTION: A building material 1a constructed by stacking a plurality of plate-like materials 11a, 11b in the thickness direction includes first engaging parts 13a, 13b formed at ends of the plate-like materials 11a, 11b. Engaging the first engaging parts 13a, 13b with first engaging parts 13c, 13d formed at ends of plate-like materials 11c, 11d of another building material 1b, respectively, enables the building materials 1a, 1b to connect with each other. The first engaging parts 13a to 13d are constructed so that the ends of the plate-like materials 11a, 11b of the building material 1a are capable of being engaged from the thickness direction with the ends of the plate-like materials 11c, 11d of the building material 1b, respectively, and movement of the plate-like materials 11a to 11d in directions that are parallel to plate surfaces of the plate-like materials 11a to 11d and separate from each other is capable of being restricted in an engaged state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
