PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing elution of nickel into water, especially elution of nickel into tap water and a device for water supply with reduced and suppressed bleeding of nickel.SOLUTION: There is a method for suppressing bleeding of nickel into water contacting with a member, where the member contacting with water is a device for water supply, for example, a cock metal fitting. The surface of the member is provided with plating consisting of an alloy of at least one selected from cobalt, tin, iron and phosphorus and nickel. One of the nickel alloy plating is nickel cobalt alloy plating. By placing the member in an environment contacting with water, it is possible to suppress bleeding of nickel into water contacting with the member.SELECTED DRAWING: None
