PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auger for ground improvement that forms a stable columnar body having large friction with surrounding soil.SOLUTION: An auger for ground improvement includes: an auger shaft 100 extending in a prescribed direction; a spiral conveyance part 110 protruded spirally on an outer periphery of the auger shaft 100 and conveying materials containing excavated soil in the prescribed direction as the auger shaft rotates; a relay part 120 having a first end extending in the prescribed direction from the auger shaft; a roughly conical head 130 extending in the prescribed direction from a second end of the relay part, the head having a diameter that tapers in a direction away from the relay part; and blades 140, 150 protruded from an outer periphery of the head 130. The blades 140, 150 have a pressing surface for compacting the material on surrounding soil when the auger shaft rotates. An area at the second end of the relay part 120 is smaller than an area at the first end, when seen on a cross-section orthogonal to the prescribed direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
