PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal authentication system configured to improve security, while preventing unauthorized use.SOLUTION: A personal authentication system 1 includes a PC 20 and an authentication device 30. The PC 20 includes: a position data storage unit 23 which stores a bit position pattern and a byte position pattern; a frequency patten storage unit 25 which stores a plurality of frequency patterns; and an acoustic communication unit 27 which performs acoustic communication. The authentication device 30 includes: a position data storage unit 32 which stores a bit position pattern and a byte position pattern; an authentication key storage unit 34 which stores an authentication key; a frequency pattern data storage unit 35 which stores a plurality of frequency patterns; and an acoustic communication unit 31 which performs acoustic communication. The acoustic communication units 27 and 31 are configured to perform acoustic communication with a lottery frequency pattern determined by lottery and an acoustic signal based on the bit position pattern and the byte position pattern.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
