PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device on a work table having hand posts disposed at four corners.SOLUTION: A work table is formed such that WL1 are satisfied, W being a width of an entrance (9) between a first hand post (4a) and a second hand post (4b). With regard to the width W, L1 is a length of a standing part (4u) extending above a top plate, L2 is a length of a base edge part (4d) extending below the top plate, and L is a total length of a hand post (4) that includes L1 and L2. A safety rod (11) is provided to be rotatable between a hanging posture and a horizontal posture that opens/closes the entrance (9). Rotary shaft means (21) of the safety rod (11) is pivotally fitted on movable shaft bearing means (12) provided movably in a vertical direction on the first hand post (4a). The safety rod (11) may rotate across a girder side edge (2d) of a top plate (2), by moving the movable shaft bearing means (12) upward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
