SHELTER BUILDING
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelter building of a not excessively large-scale type, without the waterproof hatch, etc.SOLUTION: A shelter building 1 includes a collective housing part 2 with dwelling units on a plurality of floors, and a stairway tower 3 with a common staircase leading to the dwelling units. The stairway tower 3 includes a roof part 32 that serves as an evacuation place, and an emergency stairway 33 that leads to the roof part 32. The stairway tower 3 is higher in structural durability compared to the collective housing part 2. For example, if there is not enough time to evacuate to a safe place when a tsunami or other disaster strikes, residents can evacuate urgently to the roof part of the stairway tower, using the common stairway and the emergency stairway. Since the stairway tower has a greater structural durability compared to the collective housing part, the stairway tower may escape destruction even when the collective housing part has been destroyed by tsunami or other disaster.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
