GROUND IMPROVEMENT METHOD AND IMPROVED GROUND
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve at least a part of a problem in a conventional liquefaction countermeasure technology.SOLUTION: In a ground improvement method, a plurality of low void-ratio regions which are formed into an island shape when viewed from above on the ground whose underground water level is 1,300 mm or deeper, and which are covered with a first water non-permeable sheet at bottom faces and side faces, and high void-ratio regions which are formed into a net shape so as to surround the low void-ratio regions when viewed from above, and higher in void ratios than the low void-ratio regions are formed so that depths from the uppermost part of the low-void-ratio regions and the uppermost part of the high void-ratio regions up to the ground surface are deeper than 500 mm, and depths from the lowermost part of the low-void-ratio regions and the lowermost part of the high void-ratio regions up to the ground surface are shallower than 1,300 mm, after that, a second water non-permeable sheet is arranged on a clearance between a plurality of the low void-ratio regions and the high void-ratio regions so as to water-tightly cover a plurality of the low void-ratio regions and the high void-ratio regions, and water is made to pass between the first water non-permeable sheet and the second water non-permeable sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
