AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND PORTABLE MACHINE
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance security property against illegal authentication that utilizes radio communication.SOLUTION: A portable machine 2 includes: a Q value estimation part 217 which estimates a Q value of an LF transmission antenna 6 by using a reception voltage of an LF signal that is transmitted from BCM; and an illegality decision part 221 which decides presence/no presence of illegality depending on whether or not the Q value estimated at the Q value estimation part 217 agrees with an expected value of the Q value of the LF transmission antenna 6. In a case where the illegality decision part 221 decides that there is no illegality and code collation is established at a code collation part 213, a response signal is returned from an RF driver 24 to the BCM, and on the other hand, in a case where the illegality decision part 221 decides that there is illegality, no response signal is returned from the RF driver 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
