PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle, as various unshaped refractory material, composed of a spinel-type porous sintered material, that has an excellent thermal property not found in the past.SOLUTION: The particle for unshaped refractory material of the present invention comprises a spinel-type porous sintered material represented by a chemical formula MgAlO, and has a particle size distribution in which, among the pores having a pore size of 10 μm or less in the particles for unshaped refractory material, pores having a pore size of 0.01 μm or more and less than 0.8 μm account for 10 vol% or more and 50 vol% or less, and in which 60 vol% or less of the particles have a particle diameter of less than 45 μm, 20 vol% or more and 60 vol% or less of the particles have a particle diameter of 45 μm or more and less than 100 μm, and 10 vol% or more and 50 vol% or less of the particles have a particle diameter of 100 μm or more and 1,000 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】従来になく優れた熱的特性を有する各種不定形耐火物としての、スピネル質の多孔質焼結体からなる粒子、及びこれを用いた各種不定形耐火物を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の不定形耐火物用粒子は、化学式MgAl2O4で表されるスピネル質の多孔質焼結体からなり、この不定形耐火物用粒子における孔径10μm以下の気孔の内、孔径0.01μm以上0.8μm未満の気孔が10vol%以上50vol%以下を占めており、かつ、粒子径45μm未満の粒子が60vol%以下、粒子径45μm以上100μm未満の粒子が20vol%以上60vol%以下、粒子径100μm以上1000μm以下の粒子が10vol%以上50vol%以下となる粒度分布を有する。【選択図】なし
