PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor device for sliding door which is easy in construction.SOLUTION: A linear motor device 400 is a linear motor device for sliding door which moves a sliding door 40 along a rail part 451a extending in a predetermined direction arranged at an upper frame 20. A first mounting unit 401 which the linear motor device 400 has includes: a first mounting member 411 mounted on the sliding door 40; and a first roller 421 which is the first roller 421 rolling on a travel surface of the rail part 451a in a predetermined direction and which is stored in a first housing 450a arranged at the upper frame 20. Also, the first mounting unit 401 has: a plurality of electromagnets 41; a drive circuit for the plurality of electromagnets 41; and a holding member 470 for holding the plurality of electromagnets 41 outside of the first housing 450a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
