PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost while surely preventing corrosion of a joint member 14.SOLUTION: An expansion device 10 for a road bridge comprises a pair of joint members 14, a water cutoff member 16 and a rubber layer 18. An upper plate part 20 and a side plate part 22 of the joint members 14 are integrally formed of a steel material. The water cutoff member 16 is to prevent a downward flow of rainwater of intruding from a clearance S such as rainfall time, and is arranged under the joint members 14. In the water cutoff member 16, a pair of base parts 1602 are positioned on both ends in the width W direction of the water cutoff member 16, and are respectively installed on an inner surface 2202 of the corresponding side plate part 22 by vulcanization-adhesion. The rubber layer 18 covers the whole area of the inner surface 2202 of the side plate part 22 exposed from the water cutoff member 16, the whole area of an undersurface 2004 of the upper plate part 20, the whole area of a tip surface 2006 of the upper plate part 20 and the whole area of an upper surface 2002 of the upper plate part 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
