PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a fence or a handrail to be easily and definitely installed regardless of the size of a cap piece relative to a brace.SOLUTION: A fence or a handrail is formed by disposing a connection bracket 40 on an upper end of a brace 10 and installing a cap piece 30 on the upper end of the brace 10 through the connection bracket 40. The connection bracket 40 has a base part 41, which is fixed to the upper end face of the brace 10, and a connection part 43, which bends after protruding upward from a marginal part of the base part 41 and has an insertion hole 43a at a bent end. The cap piece 30 has an installation undersurface 30A6, which positions a butting undersurface 30A5 of the cap piece 30 above the upper end face of the brace 10 when the cap piece is placed on the connection part 43 of the connection bracket 40. A fitting screw 51, which prevents the connection part 43 from relatively moving to the fitting undersurface 30A6 by screwing through the insertion hole 43a, is fitted between the connection bracket 40 and the cap piece 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
【課題】支柱に対する笠木の寸法に関わらず、取り付け作業を容易、かつ確実に行う。【解決手段】支柱１０の上端部に連結ブラケット４０を備え、連結ブラケット４０を介して支柱１０の上端部に笠木３０を取り付けてなるフェンスまたは手摺りにおいて、連結ブラケット４０は、支柱１０の上端面に固定されるベース部４１と、ベース部４１の縁部から上方に向けて突出した後に屈曲し、屈曲端部に挿通孔４３ａを有した連結部４３とを有し、笠木３０は、連結ブラケット４０の連結部４３に載置させた場合に笠木３０の当接下面３０Ａ５を支柱１０の上端面よりも上方に位置させる取付下面３０Ａ６を有し、連結ブラケット４０と笠木３０との間には、挿通孔４３ａを介して螺合することにより、取付下面３０Ａ６に対する連結部４３の相対移動を阻止する取付ネジ５１を設けた。【選択図】図５
