PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a hydraulic actuator highly operable, even when a pressure accumulator has been sufficiently pressure-accumulated.SOLUTION: A hydraulic drive unit of a work machine has a hydraulic actuator (3), a tank (20), a flow control valve (6) and a pressure accumulator (300), and includes a regenerative control valve device (200) for controlling a flow amount passing through the flow control valve to be constant. The regenerative control valve device has a first control state for keeping a front-rear pressure difference of the flow control valve constant while accumulating pressure oil in the pressure accumulator, by leading the pressure oil flowing toward the tank from the flow control valve into the pressure accumulator, and a second control state that maintains the front-rear pressure difference of the flow control valve constant, by leading the pressure oil flowing toward the tank from the flow control valve into the tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
