PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light deflection element for improving differences in deflection degrees depending on wavelengths of transmitted light.SOLUTION: A light deflection element 10 includes a first substrate 20 having refractive index anisotropy and having a first refractive index with respect to light at a predetermined wavelength having a predetermined vibration direction of an electric field, and first minute optical members 31 dispersed in the first substrate and having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index with respect to the light at the predetermined wavelength. The light deflection element 10 further includes an optical element; and the optical element is a substrate with minute optical members dispersed therein, or a minute optical member 32a dispersed in the substrate 20, in which the substrate or the minute optical member has different optical characteristics from those of the first substrate 20 or the first minute optical member 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
