PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wave power generation device that can be relatively easily installed without a reduction in generation efficiency, and to provide a method for installing the wave power generation device.SOLUTION: A wave power generation device 1 includes: a pillar 2 moored underwater in an erected state; a float 3 vertically moving with a wave along the pillar 2; and a power generation mechanism 4 for generating power using relative motion of the float 3 to the pillar 2. A hollow body 14 is installed to the pillar 2 and sea water is brought into a poured state by pouring the sea water into the hollow body 14 when the wave power generation device 1 is disposed underwater.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
