PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaped composite material that can maintain high performance characteristics even in harsh applications, but allowing the production costs to be kept low because a process for obtaining it can be advantageously performed in a conventional production plant.SOLUTION: A shaped composite material 1 comprises an inner layer 3 of C/SiC/Si material comprising short and disorderly filaments essentially consisting of carbon and respective outer layers 2, 2' of C/SiC/Si material having an orderly fabric structure, the inner layer and the outer layers are weld-bonded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
