PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damping device capable of preventing failure of an attachment part of the damping device in upper and lower structures, and also having a compact size, allowing simple installation, and providing economical efficiency.SOLUTION: A damping device 1 for bridge installed between a lateral face of a lower structure 11 and a lower part of an upper structure 12, comprises a lower structure side mounting bracket 20 and an upper structure side mounting bracket 22 provided on the lateral face of the lower structure 11 and in the lower part of the upper structure 12, respectively, and a buckling restraint low-yield point steel member 10 attached rotatably at one end to the lower structure side mounting bracket 20 via a pin 21 and attached rotatably at the other end to the upper structure side mounting bracket 22 via a slide pin 23 so as to be movable horizontally in a predetermined length range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
