PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation method of a ridge ventilator capable of installing a ridge ventilator while leaving a ridge capping, a roof material and the like on a roof after the ridge capping is fixed, and to provide a building.SOLUTION: An installation method of a ridge ventilator includes: an opening formation step of forming an opening by penetration through a ridge capping, a coping, a roof material and a roof board in this order; a cut-off treatment step of covering an inner peripheral surface of the opening, an upper edge surface of the opening and a lower edge surface of the opening with a waterproof material; and a ridge ventilator fixing step of mounting a ridge ventilator on the ridge capping at a position covering the upper part of the opening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
