PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brace damper capable of constructing a historical characteristic when a load is applied in a desired form.SOLUTION: The brace damper comprises: three core members (a plurality of core members) 2, 2, 2 formed in a long plate shape and superimposed on each other in the thickness direction; a pair of clamping members 3, 3 arranged to sandwich three core members 2, 2, 2 from both sides in the thickness direction; and a pair of connecting members 4, 4 connecting the pair of clamping members 3, 3 so as to straddle the three core members 2, 2, 2. At least one core member 2 out of the three core members 2, 2, 2 differs from the other core member 2 in at least one of rigidity and yield strength for the load applied from the longitudinal direction of the core member 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
