RADIATION SHIELDING MATERIAL, AND BOX-SHAPED CONTAINER AND BOX-SHAPED STRUCTURE FOR STORING RADIOACTIVE WASTE
To provide a radiation shielding material which is excellent in strength and radiation shielding capability, and a box-shaped container and a box-shaped structure for storing radiation waste.SOLUTION: A radiation shielding material is made of sulfur concrete obtained by kneading a compound which is composed of 5 to 30 wt.% of sulfur, 30 to 60 wt.% of blast furnace slag, 3 to 20 wt.% of burned ash, and 30 to 55 wt.% of dicyclopentadiene containing metal powder of tungsten or lead or a solidification agent of barium sulfate, so as to melt it by heat and solidify it in a mold form by cooling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
