To provide a ground purification method in which pollutants in a penetration part can efficiently be cleaned up.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for purifying a ground G having an upper water permeable layer G1 on the top side of a low water-permeable layer G2 where a penetration part 20 extending in the vertical direction exists, and having a lower water permeable layer G3 on the underside of the low water-permeable layer G2, including: a step of expanding the water permeable area of the penetration part 20 from the upper water permeable layer G1 to the lower water permeable layer G3; and a step of injecting a purifying agent into the lower water permeable layer G3 or the upper water permeable layer G1 and pumping groundwater C containing the purifying agent from the upper water permeable layer G1 or the lower water permeable layer G3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
