To provide a heat insulation member which is used while being held between objects, has a high mechanical strength and is improved in a heat insulation performance between the objects.SOLUTION: A heat insulation member (16) comprises: a first principal surface (161) which faces one object when the heat insulation member is held between objects; and a second principal surface (162) which is positioned at an opposite side of the first principal surface (161) and faces the other object. The heat insulation member (16) has a porous structure of ceramic including pores, and a skeleton of the porous structure is formed from ZrOparticles and a dissimilar material being present on surfaces of ZrOparticles. The dissimilar material includes at least one selected from among SiO, TiO, LaOand YO. The dissimilar material is present on the surfaces of ZrOparticles, in particular, in a connection part between particles, thereby obtaining an excellent heat insulation performance while keeping a mechanical strength of the heat insulation member (16) high.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
