To provide a reinforcement method and a dismantling method capable of reducing the time and labor required for the underground construction of a new building.SOLUTION: There is provided a dismantling method of dismantling an existing pile 161 of an existing building 100, comprising a step of forming a mountain wall portion for performing underground work of a new building at the underground wall portion 11 provided in the basement of the existing building 100, a step of forming dismantling opening 34 for dismantling the existing pile 161 of the existing building 100 by removing at least a part of a first floor 12, a basement first floor 13, and a basement second floor 14 of the existing building 100 above the existing pile 161 of the existing building 100, a step of dismantling the existing pile 161 with a dismantling apparatus 41 from above the first floor 12, the basement first floor 13, and the basement second floor 14 via the dismantling opening 34 formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
