To simply and firmly fasten a steel material by fastening a nut from the outside, the steel material having such a characteristic that it is difficult to put a hand into the inside of a bent plate.SOLUTION PART: A steel material fastening device comprises: a square steel pipe 2 having a flat plate 2a with a first open hole, and a side plate 2b connected to the flat plate 2a; and an L-shaped bolt 8 inserted into the first open hole, and fastened to the steel material by a nut 19. The L-shaped bolt 8 comprises: a fastening shaft 8a, as a first shaft, having a screw thread engaged (screwed) to the nut 19; and a locking shaft 8b, as a second shaft, provided orthogonally to the fastening shaft 8a, and having an end part contacting with an inner surface of the side plate 2b in fastening.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
