To provide a technique for closing an opening in a container formed of a long fiber reinforced silicon carbide material that can improve resistance to temperature change.SOLUTION: A container 1 is formed of a long fiber reinforced silicon carbide material in which the long carbon fibers of silicon carbide are combined with a matrix of the silicon carbide, and includes a container body 2 in which the thickness B of a wall part 5 separating an inside and an outside is a specific dimension and a lid 3 closing the opening of the container body 2 which is formed of the material containing at least silicon carbide, and which the wall thickness of a wall part 6 separating the inside and the outside is at least one time and at most three times of the specific dimension.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
