To provide means of producing coated particle powder capable of imparting excellent dispersibility upon being dispersed in a medium.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of producing coated particle powder, comprising a process (A) of spray-drying a raw material dispersion containing particles composed of an oxide, a carbide, a nitride, metal, or an organic material, a water soluble metal salt, and water to produce particle aggregate (a), a process (B) of heat-treating the particle aggregate (a) at a temperature of not lower than 300°C and not higher than 750°C to produce particle aggregate (b), and a process (C) of crushing the particle aggregate (b) to produce coated particles (c).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
