To provide means that produces aluminum hydroxide-coated SiC particle powder having a coating layer containing aluminum hydroxide on the surface of an SiC particle.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for producing aluminum hydroxide-coated SiC particle powder, having a coating step in which the pH of a dispersion containing an SiC particle, aluminate sodium and water is maintained in a range of 9-12, and a coating particle having a coating layer containing aluminum hydroxide is formed on the surface of the SiC particle.SELECTED DRAWING: None
