To enable the power saving of a mobile device through the use of an acceleration sensor, and to enable the prevention of the useless continuation of operation for power saving in the event of a failure in the acceleration sensor.SOLUTION: A mobile device comprises: an acceleration sensor unit 34; an LF reception section 32 for performing short-range wireless communication with an antenna for vehicle-cabin-outside collation and an antenna for vehicle-cabin-inside collation which are provided in an authentication object; a reception stop section 355 for stopping the reception operation of the LF reception section 32 on the basis of the detection result of the acceleration sensor unit 34; a failure detection section 356 for detecting a failure in the acceleration sensor unit 34; and an operation switching section 357 which, when a failure in an acceleration detection section is detected by the failure detection section 356, prevents the reception stop section 355 from stopping the reception operation of the LF reception section 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
